Ellie prepared my son for the Lower Level ISEE test. She was always very professional, punctual and pleasant; my son was comfortable working with her from the first session. My son says, "She was a great tutor and she made studying fun by giving me activities that were not too hard for my level but not too easy. She gave me challenges and kept pushing me to do better. I felt well-prepared for the test, thanks to her." We highly recommend Ellie!

To all who are considering a tutor, I highly recommend Ellie. My daughter was having a difficult time in her US History class and we were concerned about her being able to pass the regents. So I hired Ellie. The minute she stepped through the door I knew I made the right choice. She was friendly and relatable. My moody teenaged daughter loved her and trust me that doesn't happen often. Ellie was extremely patient and yet didn't tolerate excuses. My daughter became so proficient in her history class that she began tutoring her classmates. Needless to say, she passed with flying colors and so did her friends which is a testament to Ellie'e skills as a tutor. Ellie was always on time, accommodating and easy to reach. My only regret is that I didn't find her in my daughter's freshman year which would have made a tremendous difference in her overall GPA. Again, I recommend Ellie to everyone without reservation.

This is my son's 3rd lesson. Ellie is actively working with my son, he has several academic problems with reading, writing and math. What I like about the tutoring session is Ellie's ability to multitask and touch on multiple subject areas within a limited time frame. I know that my son is responding because he wants to do his home work for Ellie before he even starts his school home work. After every lesson, Ellie has given feedback from the lesson. She mentions observation and does not sugar coat her results. I will continue working with Ellie and will continue to give feedback. Thanks.

Great tutor. Teaches very well. Fun and kind as well. She knows what her material is and she also gives material that is harder to prep.

Andrew A. from Brooklyn, NY

Ellie is working very hard with Andrew. She has made his math understandable.would recommend her. She is very professional. She is working on him having more confidence.

Ellie has been tutoring my son for the GED for about 2 months, she is wonderful! She is very patient, encouraging, and professional and also makes the lessons very personable. My son is very comfortable with her and actually looks forward to his next tutoring session. Ellie also keeps me up to date with emails of their sessions and is detailed with what they have worked on and what he needs improvement with, as well as what he has accomplished. I would most definitely recommend Ellie, she is awesome!

Ellie has been great for our 4th-grade daughter. She took the time to get to know her and to learn her strengths and weaknesses. Our daughter has progressed wonderfully with Ellie's tutoring. She has a much better command of math concepts and ELA strategies, her grades have improved, and her confidence has increased. I appreciate that Ellie customizes her lessons to match my daughter's needs. She challenges her, encourages her, and supports her. My daughter found a friend as well as a tutor in Ellie. Ellie is always accessible to us. She makes it a point to address any questions or concerns we have. She keeps us updated on our daughter's progress each session and is open to any suggestions we may have. In short, Ellie is a very knowledgeable teacher who genuinely cares about her students. I am very happy that she plays such an important part in my daughter's education.

Teach Ryan how to answer the questions in more complete and detailed manners. He also improves with teacher's help. Thanks!

Let me start off by saying that it wasn't easy choosing to hire a tutor. Sometimes parents don't want to admit that their child needs that extra help that we are not able to give them; so we tend to approach situations with some form of skepticism. Ellie put all of my worries and fears to rest. Her open line of communication is invaluable. She has such an inviting spirit. We discussed what the issue is with my son, and right away she told us what materials we needed. From that point on it was full steam ahead. Ellie will always give a full breakdown of what was done for that session, and any additional homework that has been given. With the dedication and work we have seen a steady improvement in the area that my son needed help with which was reading comprehension. Excellent communication skills, a genuine passion for what it is that she does, and an overall desire to see her students succeed is what makes Ellie the awesome tutor that she is. My son's steady improvement is proof positive of that. Highly Recommended!

Ms. Ellie Tutored me for about two months, she was really fun. I learned so much from her, she is the best tutor in the whole wide world. Before meeting her, I was really struggling with my writing, Ms Ellie gave strategies on how to write stories, and I got better at it. My mom is so proud of me for all the progress I made. Ellie is always on time, very professional. I cannot command her high enough. She is dedicated to what she does. She always try new strategies with her students to find their strengths and weaknesses. she is patient and kind to her students, (which is a rarity these days.) If you are going to hire a tutor, I highly recommend her, you will be pleasantly surprised, because she gets the job done.

Over the summer, Ellie tutored my 1st grade son twice a week in reading and math. It was well worth the commitment of time and money. He went back to school with confidence in his academic abilities. I am happy to boast that my son is now at the top of his class with nearly perfect scores on his first quarter report: Spelling 100%, Math 100%, Reading 99%. Thank you Ellie! See you again next summer.

I am currently a student of Ellie. She is helping me prepare for the shsat. She is patient, professional, and really knows how to communicate with her students. She helped me with the stress and worries the test has put on me. Ellie assigns you homework and helps you plan your lessons to make sure you improve but at the same time, makes sure you don't get stressed out. She boosts my confidence about the test and not only does she prepare me for the shsat but taught me skills for future references.

Aleh S. from Brooklyn, NY

My son worked with Ellie on the ELA part of the SHSAT exam for the high school. She recognized his weak areas and his strength right from the first lessons and taught him useful tips and specific strategies on improving his performance for the test. She would find different ways to challenge him, and make practice with him fun. They worked on applying certain skills in different settings to make sure he feels confident in what he has learned. She is able to challenge a student and prepare him for the test even in a short period of time. Besides that, Ellie is a very optimistic, open minded and responsive person, accepting any feedbacks and willing to discuss any concerns or parents worries about their child's performance. I am happy that we hired her.

Ellie from the first day was patient and understanding with my son. She worked on his weakness while building his strengths. She also created lesson plans fun and educational for my son which he enjoyed very much. I saw results within weeks of his session and he continues to improve.

Ellie is an incredible tutor who is very patient and punctual. Ellie gets to know your writing or your reading weaknesses so she can come with a teaching plan that best works for you. She is amazing!

Ellie has been a God sent tutor to help my daughter which is in the 4th grade. After one lesson, I can see a big difference in my child. Ellie evaluated and worked on her weakness. She made learning fun and easy. My daughter is a better person now because she got the confidence she needed. I will strongly recommend Ellie to be in your homes, she is warm and has a caring nature. My daughter loves her.

Kevin W. from Rockaway Park, NY

Ellie has been tutoring our daughter for the SSAT exam. In very short period of time, we have seen a great improvement in our daughter's reading scores on practice tests. Ellie assigns homework and practice exams to her and then reviews the test with her. Moreover, Ellie is extremely professional and patient tutor. We would highly recommend her.

As parents we want someone who can get our kids where they need to be academically, but I also think, we want someone who can help us, as parents, to do the same. Ellie is that someone. Ellie started tutoring my son in March until the end of August 2015 he was in 2nd grade at the time. She is extremely knowledgeable not just on the academic side, but also in terms of the social and emotional side of what helps a child learn. She always put the comfort of my son first. I was very happy with the fact that Ellie challenged my son by introducing him to math and math concepts that were above his grade level at the time. She knew that math was his favorite subject, and capitalized on that. Ellie had him simplifying, dividing, and multiplying, fractions and mixed fractions. He is in 3rd grade now and is doing extremely well. He's improved in his reading fluency, and is really developing a love for writing, thanks to the work that Ellie did with him, and the advice she gave us. She lets you know all the things your child will need in the beginning. She also makes use of technology in her teaching methods, like apps you can download and use with your child on your own. She even started teaching him beginner finger placement for typing, on her ipad. Ellie uses enough different techniques to keep a child interested and engaged. She was always available to answer questions, and always open to input from us. If you want a tutor that can put both yourself and your child at ease, who is very competent, who makes use of EVERY minute they are with your child, and who your child will genuinely love working with, so you will see results, Ellie is the tutor for you!
